Lest We Forget
There may be many reading this that have memories of friends and family who gave their lives for others they did not know.

The words of US poet Maya Angelou sums this up.

“How important it is for us to recognize and celebrate our heroes and she-roes, we live in direct relation to the heroes and she-roes we have. The men and women who without knowing our names or recognizing our faces, risked and sometimes gave their lives to support our country and our way of living. We must say thank you".
Question in the House
A Question was asked in the House on July 25th 2024

Details of the question and the response from the Leader of the House of Commons are below

Nick Timothy (West Suffolk) (Con)
Around three years ago, two of my constituents, Paul and Joanne Snodden, bought a new home in a residential park. The park turned out to have no licence and now, unable to sell apart from to the park owner, they stand to lose £100,000. Park owners often impose punitive increases in pitch fees, and there are complaints of basic maintenance failures. Could we have a debate on how to toughen laws and enforcement on residential parks?

Lucy Powell I thank the hon. Gentleman for that important question on behalf of his constituents. I am sure that many colleagues across the House will share similar stories. That sounds like a good topic for a Westminster Hall or Adjournment debate. I am sure that he would have lots of support if he wanted to put in for that.

The PHOJC Team are pleased  to announce and welcome Sebastian O’Kelly, CEO of LKP Leasehold Knowledge Partnership and Katie Kendrick, Founder of NLC National Leasehold Campaign who have both said “they are truly honoured to be Honorary Members of PHOJC.”.

The Leasehold Knowledge Partnership is a professional organisation that has the ear of Labour and Conservative MPs and the Leader of the Liberal Democrats. LKP is also the secretariat of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on leasehold and commonhold reform.

We walk an almost parallel path and many of you will be aware of how similar our situation is to that of the residents who live in leasehold accommodation.

In the words of Katie Kendrick of NLC Whilst we are different there are many similarities, and we will continue to work together for the benefit of those we are trying to help, and I am so pleased that we can unite like this for justice.”

Sentiments that were echoed by Sebastian O’Kelly.

OUR MANIFESTO
