PHOJC are proud to announce that the HCLG Committee have published on its website  our PHOJC report - researched and written by David Iles of PHOJC.  The report challenges certain points of the Universities report on the 10% and gives the opportunity for the content to be scrutinised.
The published report is shown on the link below

 Meeting Jan 2026
Meeting at Westminister Jan 19th 2026
This was held in the Wilson Room of Portcullis House. Four members of the PHOJC Team attended and we thank Lee Barron MP and his office for making the arrangements at Westminster.

An invitation was sent to every one of our supporting MPs and Lee Barron’s office publicised it to many others. The focus of the meeting was to engage with MPs to find ways forward that will bring about a decision on the 10% commission charge in 2026.

Many of you have asked if your MP attended. PHOJC’s secretary did her best to obtain the names of all attending MPs. However, the room filled quickly and we apologise if any were missed
.
The list of attendees who were present or represented by their offices are:
Jess Asato MP, Stuart Anderson MP, Lee Barron MP,
Lord Richard Best OBE, Sir Peter Bottomley,
Sir Christopher Chope OBE MP, Jim Dickson MP, Lee Dillon MP,
Sarah Dyke MP, Sir Ashley Fox MP, Richard Fuller MP,
Anna Gelderd MP, Sarah Gibson MP, Lloyd Hatton MP,
Rachel Hopkins MP, Sir Edward Leigh MP, Sir Julian Lewis MP,
Justin Madders MP, James Naish MP, Dr Simon Opher MP,
Ian Roome MP, Dr Ben Spencer MP, Cat Smith MP,
Rebecca Smith MP, Peter Swallow MP,  Cameron Thomas MP.
The following MPs had prior commitments but asked to be briefed:Alex Brewer MP, Helen Morgan MP, Caroline Nokes MP,
Michelle Scrogham MP, Caroline Voaden MP.

The above MPs were all sent a copy of the PHOJC briefings on the meeting. Copies were also sent to all the supporting MPs who did not attend the meeting. All attendees were given a copy of PHOJC’s rationale on the 10% charge.

PHOJC considered the meeting to be very successful - even though much work remains to be done. Many MPs spoke of their support for our campaign.
  • A park homes debate has been called.
  • Pressure to set up a new APPG for residential park home residents (without the industry as the secretariat) was strongly voiced.
  • Inquiries are being made by MPs.
  • Other avenues that we cannot voice now are being explored.
PHOJC is aware that government’s inaction over the last 12 years has meant an estimated £192m has been taken from elderly residents - since the Universities' Report was published in June 2022 - while the government continues to dither. This is money that should have gone to their essential care, support, or retirement funds. Delay is causing real financial loss and emotional distress to people who have contributed to society all their lives and deserve security, not uncertainty.

It was said that the 10% commission charge is a hot potato and results arising from positive action are a potential election winner for constituency MPs. Well, you heard it here - and below is an important message from MPs that we now bring to our members:

“Park Home residents have more power than they think they have.  With regard to the 10% commission charge, residents need to lobby their constituency MP in great numbers.”

MPs explained that they receive many calls for their time and not all can be dealt with quickly.  A cause stands out and has the best chance of action if MPs receive hundreds of e-mails on that subject from their constituents. Subsequently, MPs then take those causes very seriously and are more likely to act.

The above information is straight from the horse’s mouth, and we can tell you that the MPs who were present have all been informed of PHOJC’s imminent plans.

Days of Action
Our First Day of Action took place on February 2nd 2026.
This was a Mass Email Event where not just our membership but also any reader of our Facebook pages were invited to send an email to their MP to arrive in their Inbox on the same day.

This email requested MPs to take action on the continuing delay regarding a decision on any change to the sales commission. The actions requested were

1. Write to the Secretary of State demanding that the government publish its decision on the 10% commission without further delay

.2. Confirm whether you support changing the 10% commission, given the overwhelming evidence of the harm it causes.

3. Raise this issue in Parliament at the earliest opportunity, either through a written question, an oral question, or by supporting a debate.

More Days of Action are planned

Sonia's Tribute to a Dear Friend

Dame Annette Brooke, who became the longest-serving female Liberal Democrat MP - and a wonderful friend to PHOJC and Park Home Residents - has passed away aged 78. Our thoughts are with her family.

Sonia McColl of PHOJC announces with so much sorry the passing of Dame Annette Brooke DBE’ on 20/08/25.

Annette was not only a true friend to me but a friend to all Park Home Residents. Without her help, PHOJC would not have achieved an end to Sale Blocking in the park home sector.

To me, Annette was a very dear friend and confident who helped me to find my way in the protocols of Westminster.  We shared many private moments.

She is immortalised in my book “Beware. There is a Dark Side to Park Home Living” and I feel so privileged to have known such a very special lady. I will never forget you Annette and I will make sure that your name lives on and that park home owners throughout our country know who you were.

I believe that Westminster called you “The Park Home Lady.”  They were right, you were witness to the unbelievable problems that many park home owners faced and you did something about it.  More importantly, you came to Downing Street and with your help we ended the dreadful injustices which stopped sale blocking.

Rest well my lovely friend.  I was so privileged to have known such a lovely lady and appreciate all the help that you gave to me.  There is nothing more that I can say, except that.  God gave us a wonderful person who touched the hearts and helped so many.  What a wonderful life you have lived and I thank you dear friend from the bottom of my heart.

All my love Annette. God Bless you and rest in a well deserved peace.  I lit a candle for you last night. Sonia
