There may be many reading this that have memories of friends and family who gave their lives for others they did not know. 

The words of US poet Maya Angelou sums this up.

“How important it is for us to recognize and celebrate our heroes and she-roes, we live in direct relation to the heroes and she-roes we have. The men and women who without knowing our names or recognizing our faces, risked and sometimes gave their lives to support our country and our way of living. We must say thank you".
